Statistics indicate most of my readers are American, as such you may have not been aware of a fascinating UK Television show called "Time Team".
Time-Team was a mainstream archaeological show. It consisted of following an archaeological team around the UK doing digs to uncover history of the UK. Often times viewers were invited by someone in the area who wanted to know more about the history beneath their feet. It's a truly great piece of television, with a focus on real history and archaeological recreation. Watching it today is especially enjoyable as the show is absent of much of the modern propaganda. Romans are frequently referred to as invaders and occupiers, no one stops to talk about multi-culturalism. They instead focus on the battles, the everyday life of what they uncover. If you are so inclined there are a number of episodes on YouTube it appears.
Re-watching Time-Team today I realized it could never exist on British television in the current year. It isn't just the fact the majority of the characters are white British. They sit around in pubs drinking beer, not an ethnic face amongst them. The towns and cities they excavate are also uniformly white British. It isn't the fact there are not copious amounts of politically correct comments about diversity. No it's none of that. It couldn't exist today because people do not fundamentally care about history or their ancestors. There is simply a complete dearth of interest and respect in what we have achieved. We, as people of modernity are defined mostly by where we are at a place in time and secondly as ideological beings. People do not define themselves as British or American so much as modern. They look back on the past with disdain, even anger at times. The past is ideologically questionable to them. A show like Time-Team that reminds them where they came from and how different the social order was is to be ignored and despised.
This slow death of history is part of the dark age we live in. Every Totalitarian regime of the past we were taught about in our schools did the same thing. They remodeled the children and punished the adults. The past was remade, new myths invented. Our rules spread the myth of multiculturalism. Tell us the past was always as diverse as it was today. They teach our children we committed only horrors in the past. They urge us to forget them with one hand while beating us with guilt with the other. Most young whites are left confused and retreat into the modern. They ignore the past altogether.
Time-Team is a window into the past in more ways than one. It begun in 1994, before Tony Blair's fateful 1997 election. Before the real remaking of the ethnic makeup of Britain by the Labour party. It reminds me of other shows around the same time. The mid to late 90s River Cottage is another show that has become almost a historical record of Britain before the great change took place. Both show British people at their best, interested in history, applying expertise and caring about the past. They discuss potential narratives of Bronze age people, of Roman invaders, of Medieval lords and peasants. It's important to be aware of our history - it is also interesting to look at a time when such a show was allowed.
There is however much hope still. People like Survive the Jive create new and interesting content about the past all the time. The folkish right should be putting out more content talking about our past. Young people yearn for stories of where they came from. There will be, and is, a rejection of modernity - people need to create and rediscover the past, it is a human requirement. Without it we are lost.
No past means no future.
