We live in a highly politicized era. Entire institutions of the arts are now co-opted by woke leftists and have been for years. They have polluted the arts with their ideological insanity and driven skills into the ground.
We must fight back.
On November 7th, 2017 I published the first poems on an online poetry journal I had started “Atop The Cliffs”. Since then I have published dozens of poets, run a contest with real prizes, gotten involved and judged the Passage Prize II, had my own first collections of poems published with Imperium Press, and continue to promote poetry.
The mission statement has not changed since that time:
Atop The Cliffs aims to publish poetry from the Right. Whether you are a Western Chauvinist, a Hoppean Libertarian, or an Identitarian we aim to cultivate a home for organically grown right-leaning poetry. We stand for Beauty, Truth, and Justice, in art.
The statement says ‘the Right’ but it might as well say ‘the Good’ as things are going.
We need to provide a space for artists who are not leftists and who are not forced into turning their art into propaganda.
The Left has the backing of the large donor classes who are all left-wing to varying degrees. The Right so far has seen its billionaire class largely fund purely political movements, they don’t seem to want to fund the actual culture they care about.
We need to fund ourselves - we need to stand as beacons in the dark as people attack and denigrate the great poets of the past. We want to stand tall and preserve our cultural heritage but also encourage the creation of new things.
It would be easy if all it took was reposting Kiplings ‘IF’ - a great many people already do that but I’m trying to help the new Kiplings come alive and have a place to do that. That is the purpose of Atop The Cliffs.
