Performative sympathy for our enemies.
A lot of people it turns out don’t actually want to win. They want to turn the other cheek and forgive the people who have cheered our deaths, our replacement, tried to rob us of our children, of our morality and many other evils too numerous to mention. It’s understandable coming from women to wish to be ‘nice’ but to hear so many men prattle on in the same way is a bit sickening to me. We’re not putting these people in shallow graves or anything we are just holding them accountable for their horrendous beliefs and views. The objection to holding these peoples feet to the fire is becoming a form of performative virtue signaling across the right. The online right are so disenfranchised from power, so alone in the wilderness now that many are resorting to this kind of virtue signaling. It is almost as if they fear power itself. Sam Hyde put it best:
Their moral lassitude is the reason why American cities are unlivable. Their virtue signalling comes at the expense of child abuse, medical malpractice, and a couple hundred thousand dead Ukrainians. They will ALWAYS play dirty no matter how much we play fair. They need to be politically disenfranchised, publicly shamed—they need to be properly trained with electric shock therapy to keep their fucking mouths shut.
These are not people who think critically from first principles, they are THE mob you speak of. They are mob mentality incarnate—that is why they are called normies, NPCs, and the like. The idea of them exercising "free speech" is a joke, because the only thing loaded into their software is CNN talking points.
Try growing a pair. None of you complaining are the strong men you seem to think you are.
Alien: DEI Space Edition
Hollywood’s terminal lack of ambition or new IP leads them down yet another reboot, remake, revisiting. Who cares anymore at this point. We’re going to get another sci-fi film with a hugely diverse cast getting eaten by bugs. Somehow fitting. The trailer looked pretty standard fare and not that interesting though. Hollywood’s other big reveal lately was a sequel to Ridley Scott’s Gladiator. It also had been given the DEI treatment. In fact at this point I’m questioning just exactly if Scott is actually as good as we give him credit for. Perhaps some of his success has been by fluke or sheer luck? He seems as a director to wildly fluctuate - clearly he has great films but then there are more than a few that are total guff, the most recent of which was his pathetic attempt at telling the story of Napoleon. Gladiator II is looking terrible as well. Some things are better left untouched.
WBS Apparel
I had a short story accepted into the WBS x Double Dealer Infinite Summer literature special which was cool. I’d been meaning to throw these guys some dollars when I had the chance and this was a great one. I really like what and where these guys are going. The packaging and stickers are slick and it speaks of great things. I have to say though that not many of their designs grabbed me though. I’m not really a graphic t-shirt kind of guy (except in the gym) but such a medium is obviously the most popular for meme’dom shirts. That being said I really think WBS could up their game - it’s a difficult market to tread because there is an element of cross over in the online worlds. The last thing I’d want to be thought of as for example is a redditor but some of their offerings are pushing right up against that wall. Still they have 30$ sun glasses and more often than not a spare pare of sunnies is never regretted. Hopefully they take a page from The Golden One’s book and try to source some other less graphic stuff that is still useful: MIUSA cotton gymshorts in a Rhodie style length anyone?
No more Notes.
Recently I deleted all my notes on this platform to reset. The reset was trying to only share to Notes my articles. Unfortunately this just attracted even more braindead comments and responses - it really feels that the majority of people now cruising Substack are just reading Notes which is Twitter and are thus incapable of reading anything long form. You have absolute idiots now making comments that are totally redundant if they had actually read the linked article. It is fucking insane. No more notes from me here on out. If you are serious I’d consider deleting all yours as well. You’ll find this option in your Advanced Settings.
